Resource Project

Mission: To compile and maintain a comprehensive list of organizations that provide services to individuals in need of assistance.

Welcome to the Durham Social Issues Resource Project! This project was inspired by discussions on social issues that occurred on the PAC2 and DSIC lists and born from the desire to have an easy to use resource where citizens of Durham could find organizations which provide social services and/or social aid to those in need.

The Resources page contains a compilation of resources available in Durham, North Carolina. The Resource Project is intended to be a collaborative effort where citizens of Durham categorize and list every organization--public or private--that deals with social services and/or social aid. If you know of an organization that should be added to this list, please send the following information to the Resource Project:

  • Name of Organization
  • Brief description of the organization's mission
  • A list of services offered
  • Who is eligible for these services
  • Contact information (address, phone, fax, email, website)

You can also enter the information yourself here.

This project is a "work in progress" and we expect it to evolve as more information is gathered. As the number of organizations increase, we will begin categorizing them to improve your ability to find organizations that serve specific needs. This list will be publicly available so that residents can use it to direct individuals in need of assistance to the appropriate resources.
