The Arc of Durham is dedicated to serving people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities and their families. The Arc creates and improves opportunities in our community by building quality services & supports. Arc of Durham supports include: Information & referral, parent and community education, respite & group care, subsidies & family assistance, self-advocacy & sibling groups, supported living & life skills training, volunteer connections & services, transitional services, and public advocacy.

Represents the interests of persons with mental retardation and developmental disabilities through information distribution and referral; parent and professional meetings/conferences; continuing support and funding. Arc also provides short-term respite care.
